Chapter 4 - Yeh Dosti
Shravan and Suman's engagement preparations were going on in full swing. For Shravan and Suman this time was magical. They were back to their original relationship. No more rutha rutha rehna. How they wish they had cleared everything a little early. Shravan and Suman's happiness knew no bounds while preparing for their own marraige. But yes, due to the 'jhat mangni phat byaah' thing, they could not really meet each other on daily basis.
They used to keep meeting each other here and there whenever free. Someday just runaway to India Gate for their favourite kulfis. In short they were enjoying to the fullest. Nanaji was the happiest seeing his kids so happy. Ramnath had understood that it's only Suman for Shravan no one else.
It was a not so busy Sunday today for Shravan so he hopped to Tiwari Killa like he had been doing all these years. He pressed the bell to be greeted by Manju Mami and Mama.
" Aree beta aao aao! Kaise ho?" Asked Mamiji.
"Bas theek hoon" He said and touched their feet.
"Kaise aana hua beta?" Asked Mamaji.
"Vo actually mai ..." He started
"Sumo se milne aayaa hoon" Mamiji giggled enacting him.
Shravan blushed. Gosh! Why did he and Suman make everything so obvious always!
"Ji" He said silently moving towards Suman's room.
"Nanaji ke kamre mein hai" Mamaji said continuing to read his newspaper smiling.
"Thank you!" He said and instantly changed his way upstairs.
Nanaji had called Suman to talk something important. Nana was sitting upright and Suman beside him. Nanu was holding her by her shoulder. Shravan smiled at the sight. He also joined them and sat on the other side of the bed beside Nanu.
"Namaste Nanu" Chirped Shravan.
"Aree wah aaj tumhe kaam nai hai?" Asked Nanu.
"Tha na par mai nikal aaya. Dulha hone ka fayda" He laughed.
"Vo toh hai betaji!" Nanu smiled.
"Waise aacha hua tum aa gaye maine tum dono se baat karni thi." Nanu added.
"Arre bataiye na!! Kabse suspense build up kar rahe hai. Muje darr lag rha hai hai." Suman said.
"Tum Sumo ki Sumo hi rahogi! Impatient kahiki!" Spat Shravan.
"Shravannn!!" Suman picked up a pillow.
"Sumannn" Nanu raised his voice a little.
"Hone wala pati hai tumhara." He added.
Shravan looked at Suman smirking and Suman just glared at him.
"Aur tum bhi Shravan. Ab shadi hone wali hai tum dono ki. Thode toh thang se raho atleast bahar walo ke samne. Pata chala mandap pe lad liye aur nariyal ek durse ke sar par tod diya." Nanu said.
Shravan and Suman looked down embarrassed.
"Sorry Nanu" both said together.
"Copy Cat" both said together again glaring at each other.
"Bas karo dono. Mai bas tum dono se puchna chahta tha ki tum dono khush ho na? Tum dono mere sabse pyaare bache ho. Mai tumhe force nai karna chahta. Ye rishta tum dono ko manzoor hai na?" Nanu asked.
"Nanu, mai samajta hoon aapki baat ko. Jahaan tak iss rishte ki baat hai. Hum dono bahut khush hai. Hum dono pyaar toh ek dusre se bachpan se karte hai. Bas ye samaj nai aaya kab ye dosti wala pyaar sacha pyaar bann gaya." Shravan said eyeing Suman.
Suman smiled affectionately to Shravan.
"Shravan bilkul sahi keh rha Nanu. Hum dono ke alawa aur koi hume nai seh sakta" she laughed.
"So toh hai" said Nanu and hugged them.
"Ab tum dono ko dosti ke aage bhi sochna hai bacho. Dosti toh nibhali, par shadi alag hoti hai. Par muje ye bhi bharosa hai ki mere pyaare bachee waqt aane pe sab samaj jayenge." He added and kissed their foreheads.

Shravan and Suman looked at each other as they sat in front of each other and then at the ring in their fingers.
They were engaged.
"Unbelievable" thought Shravan.
"Ye sab ek sapne sa lag raha hai." Thought Suman.
They looked up each other at the same time. They smiled at each other showing off each other their rings like kids given a new toy. They were kiddish but only around each other. That is the best thing about marring your bachpan ka dost.

"Haa bolo" Suman answered Shravan's call.
"Tumhare yahaan hello ka system nai hai?" Asked Shravan.
"Nai. Ab bolo." She answered
"Achha suno bore ho rha hai India Gate pe milte hai." He suggested.
"Haa yaar mai bhi ye log shopping chale gaye dulhan chod ke. Aur haa jo pehle pohocha usse last kulfi milegi." Said Suman excited.
"Done. Aur usse vo bhi karna padega jo jeetne wala kahega." He added.
"Deal. Mai hi jeetungi" she said and the line went off.
"Bye ka bhi system nai hai" Shravan smiled.

Suman reached India Gate grinning to find a already grinning Shravan standing there resting on his car.
"HOW IN THE WORLD IS THIS POSSIBLE? I was in the market which is near to this place." Suman said dramatically.
"Yea, but I had come here for a meeting in the starbucks nearby." Shravan smirked.
"Ye cheating hai" she said
"Right tum bhi baju mein thi. Tumne bataya? Cheater!" Exclaimed Shravan.
"Anyway tum haar chuki ho. So yes tumhe muje kiss karna hoga sabke samne. Itne saal wait karwaya hai itna tih mai deserve karta hoon." He said proudly.
"Sabke samne matlab?" She asked
"Sabke saamne matlab hamari families ke samne aur kiske? Mai chahta hoon tum sabke samne kaho ki tum mujese pyaar karti ho and family hai toh cheek kiss bhi chalegi." He grinned again.
"Shut up Shravan! Mai aisa kuch nai karne wali. Besharam ho gaye ho tum." She blushed and moved away to leave.
Shravan held her by her wrist and bought her near him. He trapped her between his car and him.
"Well, you have a getaway here." He smiled.
He closed the distance between them reaching out for her lips when she stopped him putting her hand in between.
"Hey" He complained
"Shravan muje tumse kuch kehna tha." She said.
"Abhi zarori tha." He complained again.
"Haa" she smiled pulling his cheeks.
"Mai ye kehna chahti thi ki hum ek dusre se pyaar karte hai, iss baat ki vajah se hamari dosti pe koi asar nai padta chahiye. Mai apne bestfriend ko phir se nai kho sakti." She added.
"Woah Sumo wait! Are you friendzoning me again?" He asked unbelievingly.
"Nai re mere oxford ke buddu. Bas yaad rakhna hamare har rishte ki buniyaad ye dosti hai." She laughed at his expressions and kissed him on his lips smiling.
"This was amazing. I had been waiting since so long." He said as they broke off.
"Me too." She smiled
"Kulfi?" He asked.
"Ofcourse" she replied.
For the first time ever, they did not fight for the last kulfi but shared it.

Shravan looked at Suman smirking and Suman just glared at him.
"Aur tum bhi Shravan. Ab shadi hone wali hai tum dono ki. Thode toh thang se raho atleast bahar walo ke samne. Pata chala mandap pe lad liye aur nariyal ek durse ke sar par tod diya." Nanu said.
Shravan and Suman looked down embarrassed.
"Sorry Nanu" both said together.

"Bas karo dono. Mai bas tum dono se puchna chahta tha ki tum dono khush ho na? Tum dono mere sabse pyaare bache ho. Mai tumhe force nai karna chahta. Ye rishta tum dono ko manzoor hai na?" Nanu asked.

Suman smiled affectionately to Shravan.

They were engaged.
"Unbelievable" thought Shravan.
"Ye sab ek sapne sa lag raha hai." Thought Suman.
They looked up each other at the same time. They smiled at each other showing off each other their rings like kids given a new toy. They were kiddish but only around each other. That is the best thing about marring your bachpan ka dost.

"Haa bolo" Suman answered Shravan's call.
"Tumhare yahaan hello ka system nai hai?" Asked Shravan.
"Nai. Ab bolo." She answered
